any day now! It seems as though someone is checking on her every 5 minutes but no baby yet. Murphy's law is that the poor little baby will be born on the coldest, wettest day but time will tell.....and I will keep you posted!

Well, it wasn't quite a "white Christmas" but it was close! Things have not warmed up much, although as you can see, Cowgirl doesn't mind the cold weather. Luckily the weather cooperated just enough to allow Alley, Priscilla and Isis to head to their new home just in time for a Christmas surprise. I hear Priscilla will be back as soon as Alley is old enough to be weaned and both will likely make an appearance in Houston as a cow/calf pair. I can't wait to see Alley...she might have been the cutest baby yet! Today was a momentus day for our little Alley....halter day! At 7 weeks old, she is still young but this week she will take her first trailer ride so it was time. I watched from a distance until it was safe to approach and after awhile, Alley didn't seem to mind. I heard the Houston and Austin shows are right around the corner. For those of you that follow me, you know I can be fair weather but when it comes to the mini cows, I am pretty dedicated! Given last night's rain, I stayed high and dry tonight (it looked like a mud pit out there!) but stayed true to my job....watching over the cows....and hoping I get an early Christmas present from Sioux! LOVE to eat!!! Now some might chalk it up to being 8+ months pregnant, those of us that know Alice, know that she just loves food. She is a month or so away from giving birth but was more than happy to join her friend Sioux and the "girls" (Priscilla, Alley, Millie and Lizzy) in the front paddock. Our friend Jeff says she is just eating as a result of her depression over the Texas/NE game, but we know better... |
