This week the some of the cows moved to a new field with temporary fencing. I did not think much of the "string" outlining the field until I tried to crawl underneath...and WOW!!! did I get a shock - literally!! I just wanted a few cubes but unfortunately, the cows did not warn me. Guess I will know better next time....

Keeping an eye on my cows Well, as I complete my nightly patrol, I can’t help but think the only thing as good looking as I am these days is TJ. After his success in Houston and Austin, TJ is enjoying some rest and relaxation in the back pasture with Alice. In recent weeks, he has developed a dark red coat - much like mine actually and that brings back the age old question....which bull is better - Elvis or TJ? As you may remember, Elvis won Grand Champion at the State Fair of Texas and in March, he had a beautiful little heifer calf with Shiraz (check out Millie’s photos)..... on the other hand, TJ has won champion or reserve in every show he has ever entered so the judges must like him too. We’ll see his first calves early next year. Ummm.....what do you think? Favorite toy Over the past month, we have received rain on a weekly basis - sometimes 5+ inches a day....finally we are starting to dry out! Its a good thing the cows have high pastures. Yesterday, Shiraz and Millie went to the vet. Apparently it is time for Shiraz’s AI process to being....I don’t want to know much about that but it sure is getting hot out there. I guess that means the summer is coming! Factoid: I love my stuffed animals! Every night when I go out to check on the mini cows, I bring my own “friend”. Sometimes I forget them and leave them in the field but I always find them sooner or later!!! This is my favorite dinosaur. Today is my birthday and my gift to you is my new blog. My blog will provide you with my view of life and the world of miniature herefords. |
