Well, it's official, Rebel is the last remaining bull calf of 2012 and the heir apparent of MMH! Moose left for his new home today and will be a great addition to his new family. He has his father's friendly and gentle personality...not to mention his love of cubes! Good luck Moose!! Now it is Rebel's turn to shine and at 3.5 m old, he looks ready to take on the challenge....see you in Houston!!
It's that time once again....the annual halter breaking of the calves has commenced! Each night, the girls (and Cupid) are tied up while we complete the nightly feeding patrol. They actually don't seem to mind - especially since cubes are plentiful and their reward is a tub of sweet feed....
Every night Wyatt shares a tub of treats with Rebel....not sure why he won't share with us - the fellow four legged friends- but he seems pretty adamant about it! The good news is Alex reliably drops a cube or two (or three) as he "helps" so we are assured of our own "treat"!
Before we know it, the next round of calves will be here! Judging from Alice's rather rotund shape these days, she may be expecting a Christmas baby....
Meet Chesie and Bluebell, the latest additions to MMH! They are late March and
late April calves, respectively, and look like they will be a great addition to
This weekend was the marathon road trip to Amarillo and several other parts of Texas....we saw it all (including Hereford, Texas!). Pudge and I were the co-captains of the cow road trip and while this wasn't my
first rodeo, Pudge did well...we might even let her go next time!
We said goodbye to Magneto as he headed to his new home in OK, we welcomed back Mr Wyatt and said hello to a few new girls....
