The new baby is doing well and learned how to run yesterday....and run she does! She races around in circles with her tail high in the air. In this photo, my friend Little Dog was sniffing noses with her and they both scared each other!

This little girl is MUCH smaller than I am but she certainly is getting all the attention! She was born on Monday and I have stepped up my patrols ever since so that I can make sure she stays safe. The rest of the calves won't be born for almost 2 months so I will have plenty of time to bond with her until then....I wonder what we should name her?!?!? It's been quite a busy week. I had to supervise the hay production and the stacking of the bales in the barn. It was the first dry square bale crop of the season - and probably the last - so it was important that it get picked up before the rain....afterall, the mini cows have to eat this winter! Here Priscilla is checking out the action - and hoping to get some cubes.... 7 Dollar, Buffy and the babies Today was a momentos day for 7 Dollar and Buffy....they introduced their "babies" to the real world. The chickens and the baby gunieas now roam freely, kicking up mulch and generally causing havoc. Their babies are even coming up for treats while I am kept behind the gate! Today was quite an exciting day...it started off early when I patrolled the special parking lots and met the Pros on their way to the TTBC Pro-Am. I don't think anyone was expecting me so I made quite the impression - even blocking traffic for a brief while! The day became even more exciting when my "cousins", Peter and Branden, won 2nd place in the Toyota Texas Bass Classic Pro-Am. Who knew they were so good?!?! Here I am with my favorite stuffed duck, while they are both holding their new favorite throphies....and of course, we have a new Toyota Tundra conveniently located behind us! checkig over the Toyota event Madison is my partner in crime....most of the time. She loves to explore but doesn't watch over the mini cows like I do. We spent the afternoon checking out the action....and picking out our new truck (although no one knows it yet!). Unfortunately, we will miss all of the action this weekend! Apparently Toyota and the event people didn't see the DOGS RULE ads.... I am learning that some people never actually go on "vacation"....and the same is true for the mini cows. Lizzy, Millie and TJ are spending time with the rest of the herd until Houston preparation start but you would never know it by looking at them. Lizzy and Millie are growing - gaining width and height - each day. If only I could eat like they do and not gain weight! Since the mini cows are "out to pasture" this month and enjoying a break before calving season starts, I have been busy patroling Buffalo Springs and the preparations for the upcoming Bass Classic on October 16-18th. My favorite restaurant, Ransom's Steakhouse and Saloon, is busy preparing too. The parking lot gets lights this week and the "Peel Barn" is being refinished for outdoor concerts....I just hope they save a burger for me! |
