It's official....MMH cattle are now international!  Here the girls and their babies wait as the vet seals the shipper's trailer with USDA tags.  They are headed to a ranch in Mexico with their new bull Ace.  Good luck Madie, Sioux, Rosie, Murphy and Max - we will miss you!! 

Well, the drought got the best of the hay fields this year and sadly enough, there is not enough to cut.  The good news is the MMH girls, Decker and Magneto couldn't wait to get in it!  Their heads are lost in the grass most of the day....they just grace us with their presence at night!  If you look closely, you can see everyone chewing green cud!

These guys are headed south of the border...literally!  Sioux, her daughter Rosie, her son Murphy, Madie, Max and Ace finally got the clearance and will be shipping out this week.  We will miss them!!

Since he is now the heir apparent, Magneto knows he is hot stuff!  At just 3 months old, he is enjoying another month of freedom before he starts preparing for his show career.  He's a good looking boy!

After a great show in Dallas (Annie was Reserve Champion Jr Heifer!), the girls are taking some time off and relaxing.  Soon enough it will be time to prepare for Houston and Austin....maybe even San Antonio!

That's right....the MMH crew is Dallas bound for the State Fair of Texas.  This year, there will be 6 attending and Miss Shiraz - the 2008 Grand Champion of the State Fair - will return as a Cow/Calf Pair with her little bull calf....stay tuned for more details!

These days, a bale of hay is almost as good as gold!  While the extreme drought continues, the MMH girls are burning through those bales....its going to be an expensive winter at this rate!  Let's hope we get some rain soon!!

It has been awhile since we reviewed the "girls" and there have been so many changes in the past year, it makes my nightly patrol difficult at times!  Despite that, there are a few constants around here.....Millie, Alice and Priscilla - just to name a few!  The 2011 show calves are a reflection of these beautiful girls...take one look at the balance and depth, combined with a clean shoulder and femine neckline and its easy to see the genetics of MMH!  Even in the heat of the summer and severe drought conditions, these girls look good!

to the Champion Drive!!  Miss Alley is turning in to quite a fine young lady!  She has shed her "show weight" and now looks like a nice, healthy heifer with a certain glow about her!  Alley has been spending her time with Mr Decker and is expecting her own little bundle of joy next Feb/March.  She has been watching the next generation prepare for the upcoming shows and likes to set a good example!!
